KUALA LUMPUR (July 23): CGC Digital, the fintech arm of Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia Bhd (CGC), has partnered with Credit Bureau Malaysia (CBM) to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) better understand their credit position and improve access to financing.

In a statement on Thursday, CBM said it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to combine CGC Digital’s digital platforms and MSME network with CBM’s credit information and risk analytics capabilities.

Under the collaboration, CGC Digital and CBM will explore the development of credit risk models and analytical solutions to improve understanding of MSME needs and support better financing decisions. They will also work on education and outreach programmes to help business owners gain greater awareness of credit information and available financing support.

CGC Digital chief executive officer Yushida Husin said many MSMEs face challenges not only in securing financing but also in understanding their credit standing and identifying suitable support.

“By pairing CBM’s credit insights with the reach of our digital platforms, we can help more business owners see clearly where they stand and take practical steps to become financing-ready,” she said.

CBM CEO Soo Chin Kang said the partnership would strengthen entrepreneurship, unlock economic value and contribute to a more inclusive and resilient Malaysian economy.

The collaboration is part of CGC Digital’s efforts to expand its digital financing ecosystem and provide underserved MSMEs with better access to financing tools, trusted insights and support to grow their businesses.
