
KUALA LUMPUR (July 22): Lembaga Tabung Haji has re-emerged as a substantial shareholder of optical retail chain operator Focus Point Holdings Bhd (KL:FOCUSP).
The Islamic pilgrims' fund crossed the substantial shareholder threshold after purchasing 570,000 shares on Tuesday, raising its stake to 5.05%.
Tabung Haji previously held substantial shareholder status in Focus Point for a brief four-day period in February 2025.
Focus Point's largest shareholder remains CEO Datuk Liaw Choon Liang's family vehicle Sustain Focus Sdn Bhd, with a 28.46% direct stake, followed by Liaw's wife and executive director Goh Poi Eong (12.88%), Liaw (8.86%) and franchise agency Perbadanan Nasional Bhd (8.45%).
Focus Point operates an optical and eye care retail chain offering eyewear and eye examination services.
The Shariah-compliant company is a constituent of both the Bursa Malaysia Quality 50 Index and the Bursa Malaysia Quality 50 Shariah Index.
For the first quarter ended March 31, Focus Point posted a record quarterly net profit of RM9.19 million, up from RM7.9 million a year earlier.
Focus Point shares were unchanged at 51 sen on Wednesday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM313.5 million. The stock has gained 5.15% year to date.
