KUALA LUMPUR (July 20): Cloud services provider AwanBiru Technology Bhd (KL:AWANTEC) announced on Monday that it will provide Google cloud services to the government for another year following the extension of its Cloud Framework Agreement (CFA).

In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the company said its subsidiary Awantec Systems Sdn Bhd, together with the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) and Google Cloud Malaysia Sdn Bhd, has extended its contract for up to 12 months. The contract value was not disclosed.

Its third agreement extension runs from July 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027, or until the successor agreement CFA 2.0 takes effect, whichever comes first.

The original CFA 1.0 agreement was first executed on March 17, 2022, where it established the scope and basic terms for the government’s purchase of Google cloud services.

After changing its financial year-end to Dec 31, 2025, the company reported a net profit of RM1.5 million on revenue of RM65.9 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026.

Its software and services segment recorded a profit before tax of RM4.6 million, while its talent, concession and other businesses posted losses.

Shares of Awantec closed unchanged at 29.5 sen on Monday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM232.5 million after more than 520,008 shares changed hands.
