KUALA LUMPUR (July 17): Construction firm Pesona Metro Holdings Bhd (KL:PESONA) has won a RM247.5 million contract from Setia Alam Medical Centre Sdn Bhd to undertake the construction of three private hospital blocks in Setia Alam, Selangor.

In an exchange filing, Pesona Metro said the contract was awarded to its wholly owned unit Pesona Metro Sdn Bhd on Friday. The project involves the construction of hospital facilities, support facilities, mechanical and electrical (M&E) rooms, as well as parking facilities.

Works are scheduled to begin on July 28 and targeted for completion by Jan 28, 2029.

Block A will comprise 15 levels of hospital space, while Block B will include eight levels of hospital facilities and additional car park floors. Block C will consist of three levels of hospital space and five levels of parking facilities. 

The development will also include basement-level parking, M&E rooms and support facilities, said the group.

Setia Alam Medical Centre Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Mega First Corporation Bhd (KL:MFCB), runs the medical centre in Setia Alam.

At market close on Friday, Pesona Metro’s shares were up by a sen or 2.4% to 42 sen, which gives the group a market value of RM291.9 million.
