KUALA LUMPUR (July 10): KL City Gateway Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic partnership with Maple Hospitality Group, appointing the firm as the hospitality and short-term rental management partner for Sutera Suites.

According to a press statement on Friday, Sutera Suites is the inaugural development within the seven-acre KL City Gateway integrated transit-oriented masterplan, which is being jointly developed by Sunsuria Bhd (KL:SUNSURIA) and Suez Capital Sdn Bhd. Under the partnership, the property will be professionally managed under the MapleSuites brand to ensure a seamless ownership and guest experience.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by Suez Capital Sdn Bhd deputy chief operating officer Ter Chen Hong and Maple Hospitality Group co-founder Danny Hor, witnessed by Sunsuria deputy COO Ter Chen Loong, Sunsuria group branding director and deputy CEO (education) Ter Shin Ann and Maple Hospitality Group business development associate manager Loi Kean.

Chen Hong said the collaboration reflects the developers' commitment to continuously enhance the overall offering, beginning with Sutera Suites as the first development within the masterplan.

“KL City Gateway is envisioned as an integrated urban destination that brings together quality developments, strong connectivity and thoughtfully planned experiences. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the transit-oriented development is connected to the Kampung Baru LRT station and provides immediate access to the Saloma Link and the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH). The project also features a dedicated lifestyle retail boulevard located less than one kilometre away from the Petronas Twin Towers.

Hor said the collaboration presents an opportunity to bring the group's hospitality management expertise to a strategically located integrated development. The hospitality firm currently manages more than 3,000 rooms across Malaysia.
