KUALA LUMPUR (July 9): Dagang NeXchange Bhd (KL:DNEX) has jumped on to the artificial intelligence (AI) bandwagon, launching an AI-powered office assistant system, called XWHIZ.

DNeX aims to have 100 subscribers by the end of 2026.

“The number of subscribers would be 100 subscribers within this year, at least that's what our target is for now,” said Shiraz Ramli, the CEO of the group's IT division at the launching ceremony.

”This is more of addressing the internal challenges within an organization” Shiraz said when asked about how the platform is effective.

“Some of the information that was captured during meetings may not have been fully captured so what we do we ensure we address all these gaps,” she added.

The platform was developed by DNeX's in-house IT team, it is able to to convert spoken conversations into structured and accurate transcripts, summaries, customisable minutes of meeting templates, decisions and action items.

“XWHIZ eliminates post-meeting administrative work, turning hours of manual labour into instant, actionable outputs. Beyond productivity, it safeguards Malaysia's digital sovereignty by keeping the entire AI stack within local borders and regulations,” said Shiraz.

XWHIZ AI tool transcribes spoken audio in both Bahasa Malaysia, including local accents, and English. It also translates these transcripts into more than 50 languages such as Mandarin, Spanish, Hindi and Arabic.

The platform was developed to comply with local data residency laws and the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

The IT division contributed 13.75% out of total revenue of RM267.56 million for the quarter ended March 31, while the semiconductor and energy segments contributed 57.98% and 28.27% respectively.

However, the IT division is the largest contributor to DNeX’s pre-tax profit of RM16.68 million, accounting for 71.6%. Trade facilitation services, particularly National Single Window (NSW), are currently the core of its IT segment. NSW is a digital platfrom for customs processing and cross-agency trade documentation.

DNeX share price increased one sen or 2.33% to 44 sen on Thursday, valuing the company at RM1.53 billion.
