KUALA LUMPUR (July 9): Information technology services firm SRKK AI Bhd (KL:SRKKAI) is betting on its long-standing partnership with Microsoft to support its regional expansion plans, including its entry into Indonesia, following its debut on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia.
Speaking to reporters after its listing ceremony, chief executive officer Yew Lip Sin said Microsoft has been providing sales leads and introducing potential opportunities in the region, supported by SRKK AI’s technical capabilities within Microsoft’s partner ecosystem.
"We realised [at an early stage] that being with a very established vendor or software platform provider like Microsoft helped us a great deal when delivering value to our customers," he said.
The company is also looking to leverage the relationship as it expands into Indonesia, where it has already secured a proof-of-concept (POC) project with a large Indonesian conglomerate, although the identity and sector of the customer were not disclosed.
Yew said SRKK AI expects to establish its Jakarta office within weeks after its listing. The group has identified office space located about 1km from the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta and has also identified a person to lead its Indonesian operations.
He said having a local team would be important to bridge language and market differences between Malaysia and Indonesia, particularly for customer-facing engagements.
As part of its initial public offering (IPO), SRKK AI allocated RM1.84 million towards its Indonesian expansion, while the remainder of its regional growth initiatives will be funded through its existing resources.
Meanwhile, chief operating officer Yeoh Kai Hearn said the company is not looking to diversify into other cloud platforms at this stage, but will continue developing partnerships with complementary technology providers such as Kaseya, Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Sangfor Technologies.
Addressing concerns over a potential slowdown in artificial intelligence-related investments, Yew said SRKK AI operates at the application layer of the AI ecosystem, rather than areas such as semiconductor chips and data centres where some investor concerns have been focused.
He said the company’s role is to help enterprises identify suitable AI use cases and integrate the technology into their operations after the necessary infrastructure has been established.
The company is also using part of its IPO proceeds to establish an AI Lab and AI Academy, which it said will support AI development and talent building initiatives.
SRKK AI debuted on the ACE Market on Thursday at 60 sen, an 88% premium to its IPO price of 32 sen.
Chief strategy officer Alex Lam said the strong debut reflected investor confidence in the company’s business model, which includes both AI and non-AI-related services.
"There are comments that say [SRKK AI] is just painting a picture with AI, but ultimately if people dive deeper into the prospectus, they can see that everything we have done — AI and non-AI components — has led us to a solid base of revenue, recurring revenue and profit margins," he said.
For the first quarter ended March 31, 2026, SRKK AI made RM1.32 million in net profit on revenue of RM31.42 million, with its cloud services, data analytics and business intelligence solutions, IT managed services and rental of hardware and software, contributing to 55.5% of total revenue.
