KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): JLand Group (JLG), the real estate and infrastructure platform of Johor Corporation (JCorp), has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with DHL Supply Chain Malaysia to collaborate on logistics and supply chain development within Ibrahim Technopolis (IBTEC).

The strategic partnership is aimed at exploring the feasibility of a Build-to-Lease logistics facility model within the 7,290-acre industrial and innovation ecosystem located in Johor. The development comes as Johor accelerates its position as one of Asia's fastest-growing data centre markets, heavily supported by substantial investments from advanced manufacturers, digital infrastructure providers, technology companies, and hyperscalers.

Both entities intend to utilise the collaboration to address the growing demand for specialised logistics infrastructure and support the future warehousing requirements of enterprises operating across the IBTEC platform.

Under the terms of the agreement, DHL will contribute market intelligence, technical specifications for warehouse solutions, and customer access to assess potential market demand. Concurrently, JLG will incorporate these insights into its overarching site strategies, built-to-suit opportunities, and customer engagement frameworks.

JLG managing director Datuk Akmal Ahmad stated that IBTEC was intentionally designed to integrate innovation, infrastructure, talent, community, and logistics. He noted that the next phase of development will focus on deepening that momentum through Exclaim Discovery City to strengthen the holistic operations of the ecosystem.

DHL Supply Chain Malaysia managing director Mario Lorenz added that early engagement in the IBTEC ecosystem positions DHL to effectively support future customer growth while expanding its dedicated data centre logistics capabilities in a critical growth market.
