KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Hextar Industries Bhd (KL:HEXIND) has bagged a RM138.42 million contract to provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) works for an industrial development in Pulau Indah, Selangor.
The contract was awarded to the group’s 70%-owned subsidiary Hextar Mitai Sdn Bhd by a private company that invests in non-residential properties, said Hextar Industries in a bourse filing on Friday. The company’s name was not disclosed due to a confidentiality clause in the contract.
Hextar Industries said the development comprises three production factories and warehouse buildings, two workers’ hostel buildings and ancillary facilities.
The scope of works under the contract includes structural works, architectural finishes, landscaping, infrastructure as well as mechanical and electrical works.
Hextar Industries said the contract, which is expected to be completed within 12 months, is expected to contribute positively to the group’s future earnings and net assets upon commencement.
"We are delighted to secure this EPC contract, which marks another significant milestone in the growth of our civil engineering division,’’ said group managing director Benny Ang in a statement.
Hextar Industries recorded a net loss of RM6.49 million for the first quarter ended March 31, 2026 (1QFY2026) versus a net profit of RM1.98 million a year earlier due to higher administrative expenses. This was despite revenue increasing to RM234.70 million from RM218.59 million.
