<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): Insights Analytics Bhd (KL:<a href="/askedge/klse/0376" class="ce-stock" target="_blank">IAB</a>) has agreed to pay RM4.24 million to settle a lawsuit over a software source code transaction.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The payment has been made in full to hotel chain operator Place2Stay Management Sdn Bhd, and the claims are now fully resolved without admission of wrongdoing, the Sarawak-based firm said in an exchange filing on Friday. A consent judgement was recorded at the Kuching High Court on July 1.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>The settlement ends a lawsuit filed by Place2Stay Management seeking RM8.48 million in outstanding payments for the sale of four software source codes with a total contract value of RM13.42 million signed in late 2024.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>As part of the settlement, the ownership of three software source codes — construction site resource management, smart hotel operations and reservation, and smart transport management systems — will remain with Insights Analytics.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Insights Analytics, which mainly provides asset management systems to water utilities, will have the full right to use the source codes.</p></div>

<div class=newsTextDataWrapInner><p>Shares of Insights Analytics were up by four sen or 2.7% to RM1.52 at Friday’s market close. The company’s market capitalisation stood at RM836 million.</p></div>
