KUALA LUMPUR (June 29): The Real Estate and Housing Developers' Association (Rehda) Malaysia, during its annual delegates conference held on Saturday, June 27, elected its new national council members for the 2026/2028 term, naming S P Setia Bhd's (KL:SPSETIA) Datuk Zaini Yusoff as its president and IJM Corp Bhd's (KL:IJM) Datuk Edward Chong Sin Kiat as deputy president.
According to a press statement on Monday, Datuk Ho Hon Sang handed over the presidency to Zaini.
Taking over Zaini's previous position as the deputy president is Chong, who also serves as the Rehda Selangor chairperson.
Following his appointment, Zaini said: "I would like to thank Datuk Ho for his dedication and diligence over the past two years. I look forward to continue working with you in your new capacity as the immediate past president, together with the other exco and national council members of this esteemed association. With your support, I am committed to carrying out my responsibilities diligently, guided by our principles of being responsive, respected, responsible and relevant".
The rest of the newly elected line-up includes most recent past president Datuk N K Tong, vice-presidents Datuk Charlie Chia Lui Meng and Datuk Tiah Oon Ling, secretary general Datuk Tan Hon Lim, deputy secretary general Carrie Fong Kah Wai, and national treasurer and WP(KL) branch chairperson Datuk David Lim Boon Huat.
Additional members of the executive committee are Datuk Seri F D Iskandar and Datuk Seri Azmir Merican Azmi Merican.
The elected National Council members from the branches consist of Johor branch chairperson Gerard Soosay Soosay Muthu, Kedah/Perlis branch chairperson Loh Wai Keat, Kelantan branch chairperson Datuk Seri Mohd Rushdan Mohd Yusoff, Melaka branch chairperson Datuk Ngoh Chun How, Negeri Sembilan branch chairperson Datuk Hoo Kim See, Penang branch chairperson Datuk Chan Soo How, Pahang branch chairperson Edwin Ng Aik Win, Perak branch chairperson Loh Ban Ho, and Terengganu branch chairperson Cheam Yun Tat.
Other national council members serving for the term include Tan Lindy, Datuk Desmond Yap Poh Seng, Azhar Shaharudin, Datuk Chan Kin Meng, Tan Ching Meng, Lee Han Rick, Datuk Tay Chor Han, May Ang Chan Moy, Shanaz Azwin Datuk Hj Muztaza, Chong Sau Min, and Chan Jin-Wy.
