KUALA LUMPUR (June 8): Malayan Banking Bhd (KL:MAYBANK) has launched an enhanced Maybank2E (M2E), an integrated regional business banking platform, to optimise the transaction process for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and larger corporations across Malaysia.
Built for the digital age, M2E is accessible through either the internet or the M2E Biz app. SMEs will be able to streamline their onboarding process through M2E within minutes, with physical documents now being completely unnecessary to the process, according to a statement.
M2E is designed to be capable of handling an entire unified end-to-end ecosystem, consisting of cash management, trade finance and foreign-exchange (FX) solutions through a single login.
Previously, consumers using the early version of M2E would have only been able to access primarily cash management, while other services remain accessible only through dedicated channels. Using the older version as a stepping stone, the all-new M2E will expand these options and feature a single activation dashboard to select multiple solutions at one go.
Users will now be able to gain greater clarity and control over their finances alongside a heightened transaction speed, thanks to the new M2E. The platform will allow users to control their finances and positions across markets in a single view, instantly lock in FX rates for over 20 currencies and customise dashboards.
According to Maybank, additional features will be rolled out in 2026, with Singapore and Indonesia likely to receive the improved M2E this year as well. The new M2E signifies a milestone in corporate and transaction banking, showcasing Maybank’s drive and commitment to consumers.
“Leveraging our strong franchise in financing, we are accelerating our ROAR30 strategy to become Asean’s leading transactions and payments bank,” said Maybank group CEO of global banking Datuk John Chong in the statement.
He further added that the new M2E would naturally be “enabling more business”, and will allow SMEs and businesses mid-capitalisation to “respond swiftly to opportunities and risks across borders and around the clock”.
The enhanced M2E is part of Maybank’s ROAR30 strategy, where they will invest RM10 billion over the next five years in technology, data and artificial intelligence (AI) to further enhance the customer’s experience with the banking group.
Maybank has also targeted to mobilise RM100 billion into SME financing. As of the nine months ended Sept 30, 2025, the bank has achieved roughly 60% of its goal in terms of SME financing.
