KUALA LUMPUR (June 3): Citaglobal Bhd (KL:CITAGLB) said it has secured a RM37.79 million subcontract to undertake construction work under Penang's light rail transit (LRT) project.
The job awarded by SRS Consortium Sdn Bhd involves the construction of long spans from Komtar to East Jelutong for the LRT Mutiara Line project, the group said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Wednesday.
The subcontract which raised the group’s outstanding order book to about RM1.45 billion was secured via a competitive tender process, said Citaglobal.
The group said it submitted its initial bid on April 9, followed by a subsequent submission through the Ariba e-auction platform on May 8.
SRS Consortium is the civil main contractor for the package, which covers the design, construction and completion of viaduct guideways, elevated stations, a depot and other associated infrastructure from Penang South Reclamation Island A to Komtar. The project’s employer is MRT Mutiara Sdn Bhd.
Shares of Citaglobal closed unchanged at 79 sen on Wednesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM390.7 million.
