KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Integrated poultry and retail firm CCK Consolidated Holdings Bhd (KL:CCK) said a fire incident occurred at its cold-storage product retailing unit’s plant in Indonesia on Thursday, but noted the extent of damage is still being ascertained.

The fire incident occurred at about 3.00am (Indonesia local time) on Thursday at 60%-owned PT Adilmart premises in Banten, Indonesia, CCK said in a bourse filing, affecting part of the manufacturing facility.

The fire was successfully contained by the local fire department over eight hours later at 11.30am, it noted.

No fatalities or injuries have been reported, it added.

“The extent of the damage and the cause of the incident are currently being assessed by the relevant authorities and the company’s insurers,” CCK said, noting the financial impact from the incident cannot be reliably estimated until the assessment is completed.

Operations at the manufacturing facility have been temporarily suspended, it added, pending safety inspections, assessment works and clean-up activities.

“The company is in the process of reviewing the insurance coverage and claims relating to the incident,” it noted.

Adilmart is involved in the retailing of cold-storage products, according to CCK’s latest annual report.

In September 2024, Astrantia Sdn Bhd, a special-purpose vehicle of a fund advised by private equity firm Creador Sdn Bhd, invested RM163.1 million for a 40% stake in Adilmart.

Shares of CCK ended three sen or 2.48% lower at RM1.18, valuing the company at RM744.25 million.
