KUALA LUMPUR (May 28): Eversendai Corp Bhd (KL:SENDAI) has secured four new engineering and construction projects worth a combined RM400 million in Singapore and India.

In a statement on Thursday, the structural steel and engineering specialist said it secured a job to build a polyclinic, library, sports facilities, stadium, town park and basement levels under the Toa Payoh Integrated Development in Singapore.

In India, Eversendai will be working on 40-storey office building that forms part of the Secretariat Towers development to house state-level administrative offices in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh.

The company also secured a contract for structural steel long-span works for the Prestige Tower Y development in Mumbai, alongside a separate cost-plus contract for a high-rise residential project known as Dhuleva One 50 at Malabar Hill.

Eversendai remains on a “solid footing” despite the current challenging times, thanks to “a strong order book, an active tender pipeline, and consistent demand” for its services, said executive chairman Tan Sri AK Nathan.

The latest wins comes after its Trojena Ski Village structural steel contract in Saudi Arabia was terminated in March due to geopolitical conflicts in the Middle East. The contract, awarded in March 2024 to its joint venture with a local partner, was originally scheduled for completion this year.

At the end of March, Eversendai had an outstanding order book of RM2.02 billion, excluding the remaining balance of the Trojena contract, while its tender book totalled RM18.4 billion.

Shares of Eversendai were down one sen or 3.28% at 29.5 sen at noon market break on Thursday, giving the company a market capitalisation of RM230.6 million ahead of the announcement.
