KUALA LUMPUR (May 26): IHH Healthcare Bhd (KL:IHH) posted a 3% increase in net profit for the first quarter, driven by higher inpatient and daycase volumes as well as a greater number of complex cases treated.

Net profit for the three months ended March 31, 2026 rose to RM528 million from RM514 million a year earlier. Core net profit after tax and minority interest also increased 5% year-on-year to RM548 million, the private healthcare operator said in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Tuesday.

Revenue grew 4% to RM6.55 billion from RM6.3 billion a year earlier, driven by stronger contributions from its operations in Malaysia, Türkiye and Europe.

No dividend was declared for the quarter under review.

IHH Healthcare said it remains confident in its growth trajectory amid rising healthcare demand across its core markets.

The group aims to expand its daycare and medical tourism segments in Malaysia, strengthen payor partnerships and pursue selective brownfield expansions.

In Singapore, it aims to deepen payor relationships, attract medical tourists from non-traditional markets and sustain quaternary care at Mount Elizabeth Hospitals, while optimising network synergies.

The group expects Fortis and Gleneagles MSA in India to drive scale and synergies, while accelerating brownfield expansion and mergers and acquisitions.

Meanwhile, Acibadem in Türkiye and Europe will continue to focus on maintaining market leadership while remaining capital-light and strengthening operational resilience, it noted.

Shares of IHH Healthcare closed up two sen or 0.2% to RM8.98 on Tuesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM79.3 billion.
