KUALA LUMPUR (May 21): Cookware company Ni Hsin Group Bhd (KL:NIHSIN) has entered into a completely knocked-down (CKD) assembly cooperation agreement with China’s Quilong to assemble and sell SURRON brand electric off-road motorcycles in Malaysia.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, the company said Qiulong will supply CKD components to Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd (NHEVT), which will act as the exclusive local assembler of the products.
NHEVT will import the CKD components and ensure its manufacturing facility and assembly operations comply with regulatory requirements. It will then sell the products exclusively to dealers designated and approved by Qiulong, the manufacturer and brand owner of the SURRON brand.
The agreement follows a memorandum of understanding NHEVT signed with Chongqing Qiulong Technology Co Ltd in April this year.
The CKD assembly cooperation agreement will run for three years.
Ni Hsin Group said the agreement is to enable NHEVT to expand its operation and range of products, particularly in off-road EV motorcycles (dirt bikes) and expand its presence in the electric motorcycle segment through collaboration with an established international brand in Malaysia.
For the first half ended Dec 31, 2025 (1HFY2026), its electric-vehicle segment revenue stood at RM738,000, or just 1.88% of the overall top line of RM39.24 million. Net loss stood at RM2.96 million.
Ni Hsin Group’s share price was unchanged at 7.5 sen at the time of writing on Thursday, valuing the company at RM46.9 million.
