
KUALA LUMPUR (May 19): Maxis Bhd’s (KL:MAXIS) wholly owned unit Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd has issued RM1 billion in sukuk murabahah under its existing RM10 billion unrated programme.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, Maxis said the issuance comprises two new sukuk series with a nominal value of RM500 million each.
The first carries a tenure of seven years and will mature on May 19, 2033, while the second has a tenure of 10 years with a maturity date of May 19, 2036.
According to the group, proceeds raised from the sukuk issuance will be utilised for debt refinancing, capital expenditure, and general working capital requirements of the issuer group.
The unrated sukuk murabahah programme was established by Maxis Broadband in June 2016 and has an aggregate nominal value of up to RM10 billion.
At Tuesday's noon break, Maxis shares closed 0.28% lower at RM3.61, valuing the company at RM28.28 billion.
