PETALING JAYA (May 17): Pandan Member of Parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli and Setiawangsa MP Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad will resign from PKR and vacate their parliamentary seats.
They are expected to vacate their seats effective this Monday (May 18), before resigning from PKR on Tuesday (May 19).

This comes after the duo said they had taken over Penang-based Parti Bersama Malaysia from its founder and president Tan Gin Theam on Sunday (May 17).
Rafizi and Nik Nazmi said they will submit a letter to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul on Monday to vacate their parliamentary seats, and will also submit their resignation letters to PKR secretary general Fuziah Salleh to formally quit the party.
When asked whether other PKR lawmakers would follow suit, Rafizi said: “That you have to ask them”.
Explaining their decision to vacate their seats, Rafizi said the move is to honour their constituencies’ voters. However, both said they will defend their seats.
Rafizi has served as Pandan MP for two terms. Similarly, Nik Nazmi has represented Setiawangsa for two terms, and previously served as Seri Setia assemblyman from 2008 to 2018.
Since being sidelined following their defeats in the PKR party leadership elections in 2025, Rafizi and Nik Nazmi have remained vocal in their criticism of the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim-led unity government.
Their announcement came as Pakatan Harapan held its convention in Johor Bahru on the same day.
