KUALA LUMPUR (April 27): Hextar Capital Bhd (KL:HEXCAP) has secured a RM155.3 million construction subcontract for a military hospital project in Melaka.

The subcontract for the Hospital Angkatan Tentera Kem Terendak project was awarded by FNA Builders & Services Sdn Bhd to its subsidiary, Legacy Core Sdn Bhd, said Hextar Capital said in a statement on Monday.

FNA Builders, which provides end-to-end construction services, is 60%-owned by Md Nazli Md Nawi and 40%-owned by Mohamed Fauzan Yusuf, according to the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

Hextar Capital said the job, which includes piling, foundation, demolition, building works and infrastructure work, is slated for completion by August 2028, and is expected to contribute positively to future earnings.

Hextar Capital managing director Johnson Chang said the group is committed to delivering the project efficiently and to a high standard.

“We look forward to working closely with the project stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project,” he said.

“The group, via Legacy Core, is highly focused on building its order book, pursuing strategic opportunities to enhance long-term value for its stakeholders,” Chang added.

Formerly known as Opcom Holdings Bhd, Hextar Capital is involved in fibre optic cable manufacturing, network engineering and telecommunications infrastructure, and is controlled by Datuk Eddie Ong Choo Meng.

Hextar Capital shares closed unchanged at 20 sen on Monday, valuing the group at RM116.21 million.
