KUALA LUMPUR (April 27): Uzma Bhd (KL:UZMA) has secured an eight-year contract to provide leasing as well as operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a portable water injection module under the Bayan Redevelopment Phase 3 project.
The company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the contract was awarded by PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd to Uzma’s wholly-owned unit, Uzma Engineering Sdn Bhd. The contract value was not disclosed, according to the group’s statement.
The scope comprises the design, engineering, procurement, construction and transportation of one portable water injection module within one year, followed by its installation, commissioning, and seven years of operation and maintenance. The contract also includes an option for a further two-year extension.
The contract took effect on March 27, 2026, and will run for eight years, unless extended or terminated earlier.
Uzma group chief executive officer Datuk Kamarul Redzuan Muhamed said the award reflects the group’s continued ability to deliver reliable, fit-for-purpose solutions to support production optimisation.
“Water injection plays a critical role in sustaining reservoir performance, and our portable systems are designed to be deployed efficiently while maintaining high uptime in demanding operating environments. It also reflects how we continue to strengthen our capabilities across the production solutions space, positioning us to support operators across different stages of field development,” he said.
Kamarul Redzuan added that under Uzma’s second five-year plan, the group remains focused on strengthening its core businesses, expanding capabilities and building a more resilient portfolio anchored on long-cycle, recurring income assets.
On April 15, Uzma secured three contracts from Petroliam Nasional Bhd’s upstream arm for the provision of coiled tubing unit equipment and services.
At Monday’s noon break, Uzma’s share price fell half a sen or 1.14% at 43.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM262.58 million.
