KUALA LUMPUR (April 24): Telekom Malaysia Bhd (KL:TM) has raised its minimum dividend payout on the back of a healthy balance sheet and cash flow.

Its revised dividend payout now stands at a minimum of 75% of profit after tax and non-controlling interests (Patami), up from the previous policy guide of 40%-60%, as announced via a bourse filing on Friday.

“The revised policy reflects TM‘s strengthened financial position and stable cash flow generation, while dividend payments remain subject to the group’s financial requirements and at the board’s discretion,” the group said.

The new dividend policy takes effect in the first quarter of 2026, it noted. Its previous policy change was in 2018.

Payout ratio in its latest FY2025 stood at 69% — its highest since 2018, according to its latest annual report. It stood at 59% in FY2024 and 51% in 2023.

Cash stood at RM2.6 billion, while total borrowings were at RM2.06 billion as at end-December 2025. Operating cash flow before working capital stood at RM3.52 billion.

Shares in TM ended one sen or 0.14% higher at RM7.10 on Friday, valuing the group at RM27.25 billion.
