KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): ViTrox Corp Bhd (KL:VITROX) said it anticipates a sustained growth trajectory throughout 2026, as the global semiconductor industry enters a robust expansion phase, after delivering its second-highest quarterly net profit in the first quarter ended March 31, 2026 (1QFY2026).
The group said the surge was driven by escalating demand for artificial intelligence (AI), rapid expansion of data centre infrastructure, and a sharp rebound in memory prices, which are projected to lift industry revenues significantly.
ViTrox’s quarterly net profit more than doubled to RM51.2 million from RM24.16 million a year earlier — marking the highest since 2QFY2022, when the group posted RM51.35 million.
Quarterly revenue jumped 89.2% to RM267.05 million from RM141.12 million in 1QFY2025, according to a bourse filing.
Looking ahead, ViTrox cited Gartner’s latest forecast, which projects global semiconductor market growth of 64% in 2026, surpassing US$1.3 trillion (RM5.15 trillion). AI-related semiconductors are expected to account for about 30% of total revenue, while hyperscaler investments in AI infrastructure are set to rise more than 50%, fuelling demand for graphic processing units (GPUs) and specialised non-GPU accelerators.
In response, ViTrox is sharpening its focus on advanced packaging applications, which increasingly require high-accuracy, high-resolution vision inspection solutions.
The group is introducing new products such as the QX1 Series, designed for ultra-high-resolution 3D X-ray inspection of miniature and complex components in advanced packaging and electronics assembly.
“While we remain cautiously optimistic, we continue to implement proactive cost management measures and operational frameworks to safeguard margins against potential headwinds from currency volatility and geopolitical uncertainties. This balanced approach positions us to remain resilient while capturing opportunities from the industry’s continued expansion,” it added.
Shares in ViTrox closed unchanged at RM4.98 on Thursday, valuing the group at RM9.43 billion. Over the past year, the stock has jumped 84.4%.
