KUALA LUMPUR (April 23): Khazanah Nasional Bhd has issued a public alert regarding fraudulent investment schemes where scammers are impersonating the sovereign wealth fund’s name, logo, and branding to deceive the public.
This comes as the group was notified of attempts on social media and instant messaging platforms, specifically Telegram, where scammers misuse images of senior leadership to promote false opportunities.
In a statement on Thursday, Khazanah clarified that as an institutional investor, it does not offer public investment schemes, solicit individual funds, or provide retail services such as unit trusts or mutual funds. Its investments are instead anchored in delivering sustainable, long-term value for the nation.
Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance Datuk Suhana Dewi Selamat said any parties claiming to represent Khazanah while offering unrealistic and quick returns should be treated as fraudulent.
"We will not hesitate to take appropriate legal action and work with the authorities to act against those who misuse our name and identity," Suhana added.
Khazanah is the sovereign wealth fund of Malaysia, entrusted with creating enduring value through purpose-driven investments across strategic sectors globally.
The public is advised to verify suspicious content and to refer only to official channels and the fund's website for verified information.
