KUALA LUMPUR (April 17): Gamuda Bhd (KL:GAMUDA) has secured a RM1.72 billion contract to build a hyperscale data centre in Port Dickson.
In a filing on Friday, the group said its wholly owned unit, Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd, was awarded the build-only contract by a US-based multinational technology company.
The project entails the construction of a single-storey hyperscale data centre, including site infrastructure works, core and shell building, as well as mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out.
Construction is slated to begin in the second quarter of 2026, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2028.
This marks Gamuda’s first contract win this year. As at end-January, the group had an outstanding order book of RM44 billion, including a A$2.7 billion (RM7.65 billion) design-and-construct contract for the Sydney Metro West stations.
With the latest job, its order book is expected to rise to about RM45.72 billion.
Shares in Gamuda fell three sen or 0.7% to RM4.28 ahead of the announcement on Friday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM25.5 billion.
