
KUALA LUMPUR (April 7): Sim Keng Chor, who is the executive vice-chairman of Unitrade Industries Bhd (KL:UNITRAD), has ceased to be a substantial shareholder of property developer Maxim Global Bhd (KL:MAXIM).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, Maxim said that Sanlens Sdn Bhd, the private vehicle of Sim and his sons, has sold 32.22 million shares, equivalent to a 4.38% via a direct business transaction on Monday.
According to Maxim's latest annual report, Sim had a 6.12% stake in the company through Sanles. The disposal trimmed his total stake in the company to 1.74%, or 12.8 million shares.
No price tag was disclosed in the filing. However, Bloomberg’s off-market data indicates the block was traded at 28 sen apiece, or RM9.02 million in total. It was unclear at the time of writing who subscribed to Sim’s block.
The 28 sen per share consideration represents a 8.2% discount to the counter’s closing price of 30.5 sen on Tuesday.
Share in Maxim rose two sen or 7.02% to 30.5 sen on Tuesday, valuing the company at RM224.3 million.
Maxim returned to the black in the financial year ended Dec 31, 2021. For FY2025, it posted a net profit of RM33.44 million on revenue of RM443.78 million.
