KUALA LUMPUR (April 3): KLK Land Sdn Bhd (KLK Land), the property development arm of Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KL:KLK), is progressing towards the official opening of its first retail development, Coalfields Retail Park, on Aug 20, according to a press statement issued on Friday.
“As the surrounding areas continue to grow with an increasing residential population, the retail and lifestyle offering within this part of the North Klang Valley remains relatively underserved. We see strong demand for a well-curated, convenient and community-centric destination that caters to this expanding catchment, and Coalfields Retail Park is well-positioned to meet these needs,” said KLK Land managing director Lee Wen Ling during a tenant engagement event held on Thursday (April 2).
The event was held at the mall’s site as the development enters its final phase towards opening, following the issuance of its Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC) obtained on March 12 this year.
The 21-acre hybrid indoor-outdoor lakeside lifestyle destination located in Bandar Seri Coalfields has secured approximately 85% occupancy ahead of its launch.
Spanning a gross built-up area of approximately one million sq ft, the two ½-storey development is directly connected to a seven-acre lake park.
The mall is expected to serve a population of over one million within a 20-minute drive, including residents from Sungai Buloh, Kuala Selangor, Puncak Alam, Elmina and Rawang.
Confirmed anchor and key tenants include Village Grocer, Harborland, Serai Seafood Restaurant, Blue Ice Skating Rink, Skechers, Decathlon, KKV, Pickle Park, Panda Eyes, Harvey Norman and Maybank.
The tenant line-up also includes McDonald’s, Kanteen, The Social, Canton Boy, La Pane Pizza, Andra by Gula Cakery, Hock Kee Kopitiam, Baskin Robbins, and Fish & Co.
Other retail brands slated to open at the park include Daisy by Voir, Bata, Hooga, Tomei and Big Pharmacy.
The project is accessible via Jalan Kuala Selangor, the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE) and the Kuala Lumpur–Kuala Selangor Expressway (LATAR).
KLK Land’s broader township, Bandar Seri Coalfields, is currently at approximately 70% completion and includes ongoing residential developments such as Walden 2 and Quinton.
The developer maintains a land bank of approximately 5,000 acres in the surrounding corridor for progressive development.
