KUALA LUMPUR (April 1): IJM Corporation Bhd (KL:IJM) has bagged a second contract to develop a data centre at Elmina Business Park in Selangor, this time worth RM658.01 million.

The contract from Sime Darby Property Bhd (KL:SIMEPROP) covers construction, completion, testing and commissioning of the hyperscale data centre, including ancillary facilities, on a site spanning about 77 acres, according to their exchange filings.

Construction works will start in the second quarter of 2026, with completion targeted by the third quarter of 2027.

Including the latest win, IJM’s contracts for the Elmina project totals over RM1.9 billion.

IJM beat three other contractors in the tender process, after all had passed a pre-qualification stage involving a total of nine companies, according to Sime Darby Property.

The winner was picked based on the overall evaluation in terms of commercial, capacity and technical expertise, as well as the assessment of Package 1 performance, the company said.

Shares of IJM were up four sen or 1.83% to RM2.23 at midday trading break on Wednesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM8.13 billion ahead of the contract announcement.
