KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): NCT Alliance Bhd (KL:NCT) is strengthening its flagship NCT Smart Industrial Park with the acquisition of 176.71 acres of an adjoining industrial land in the Kuala Langat district for RM53 million.
The group said its wholly-owned subsidiary NCT World Sdn Bhd has signed a term sheet to subscribe for 998 new shares in Semanja Murni Sdn Bhd (SMSB) whose principal asset the leasehold land with tenure running until January 2124.
Upon completion, NCT World will hold a 99.8% stake in SMSB, with 998 shares.
In its exchange filing, NCT noted that the land sits directly next to the NCT Smart Industrial Park and will be fully integrated into the master-planned development. The expansion is expected to enhance infrastructure planning, optimise shared facilities, and support the group’s long-term industrial ecosystem strategy.
The acquisition, to be funded via internal resources and bank borrowings, carries an estimated gross development value of RM1.5 billion.
NCT said the deal will not have an immediate impact on earnings, net assets, or gearing, but will provide significant growth potential once development commences.
Shares in NCT closed down one sen, or 1.7%, at 57 sen on Tuesday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM1.22 billion. The stock has risen 22.6% over the past year.
