KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): Southern Score Builders Bhd (KL:SSB8) said its 51%-owned subsidiary, SJEE Engineering Sdn Bhd, has secured two electrical system contracts for data centres worth a combined RM189 million from a local construction company.

The group did not provide the name of the construction outfit from which it received the award.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday, the group said the first project, Project A, involves the supply, delivery, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems for a data centre, valued at RM150 million. The project is scheduled for completion on Nov 30.

The second, Project B, is an extension of a data centre project originally awarded on Oct 15, 2024. The additional works are valued at RM39 million, bringing the total value of Project B to RM115.04 million, with completion expected by Oct 30.

Southern Score said acceptance of the awards will not affect the company’s share capital or shareholding structure, nor will there be any immediate impact on its net assets per share or gearing.

The projects are expected to contribute positively to the group’s net assets and earnings per share for the financial year ending June 30, 2026 (FY2026) onwards until completion.

Shares in Southern Score Builders closed up half a sen, or 0.9%, at 57 sen on Tuesday, giving the group a market value of RM1.29 billion. Over the past year, the stock has gained 18.7%.
