KUALA LUMPUR (March 31): MyNews Holdings Bhd (KL:MYNEWS) reported a 5.2% increase in net profit for the first quarter ended Jan 31, 2026 (1QFY2026), driven by an increase in store openings and reduced tax expense.

Net profit for 1QFY2026 was RM4.07 million, up from RM3.87 million in the same quarter a year ago, the retail convenience chain said in a filing on Tuesday.

Earnings per share rose to 0.54 sen versus 0.52 sen.

Quarterly revenue rose 10.5% to RM238.44 million from RM215.87 million a year ago, supported by the expansion of the group's retail network with the addition of 67 new outlets, with the total 699 outlets as at end-January 2026.

No dividend was declared for the quarter.

On a quarter-on-quarter basis, MyNews' net profit dropped 22.64% from RM5.3 million, as revenue improved 3.8% from RM229.7 million in 4QFY2025.
