
KUALA LUMPUR (March 18): Johor state government’s investment arm, Johor Corporation (JCorp), has trimmed its stake in its plantation arm, Johor Plantations Group Bhd (KL:JPG).
Its unit, Kulim (M) Bhd, disposed of 125 million shares, equivalent to the 5% stake, on Tuesday (March 17), according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.
The stake sale trimmed JCorp's stake in Johor Plantations to 1.49 billion shares or 59.457%.
While the transaction value was not disclosed, Bloomberg off-market data indicated that 125 million shares in Johor Plantations were traded on Tuesday in 13 separate blocks at RM1.52 apiece, or a total of RM190 million.
The RM1.52 price tag serves as a 4.4% discount to the counter’s close of RM1.59 on Tuesday.
JCorp remains Johor Plantations’ largest shareholder. The other substantial shareholders of the company are the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) with 8.293% and the Retirement Fund (Inc) with 5.442%.
Shares in Johor Plantations ended unchanged at RM1.59, valuing the company at RM3.98 billion.
Johor Plantations listed on the Main Market in July 2024. Against its initial public offering (IPO) price of 83 sen, the counter has nearly doubled with a gain of 91.6%.
