PUTRAJAYA (March 4): Only one of four children of the late Tun Daim Zainuddin sought by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over declaration of assets has contacted the anti-graft agency, said its chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
The MACC publicly called for the whereabouts of Daim’s four children — Asnida Abdul Daim, Md Wira Dani Abdul Daim, Muhammed Amir Zainuddin Daim and Muhammed Amin Zainuddin Daim — on Feb 27.
“The other three, we don’t know their whereabouts,” Azam said at a press conference today. “We have urged them, through their lawyers, to contact the three to present themselves in our office as soon as possible.”
“We have a list of assets in several countries totalling a few billion ringgit, which we have identified. And now the investigating team under the special operations division is collaborating and discussing with authorities in the respective countries as we have to comply with their laws under the Mutual Legal Understanding,” he added.
According to earlier MACC statements, the latest date for the four individuals to present themselves is March 11, following extensions provided by the commission at the request of their lawyers.

The probes trace back to the MACC's 2023 investigation paper under Ops Godfather following asset declaration notices issued to the late Daim; his widow Toh Puan Na’imah Abdul Khalid; and their children.
Two of Daim’s children, through their lawyers, have dismissed claims by the MACC that they could not be located, calling the assertion “false and mischievous”.
In the rebuttal dated Feb 27, they said notices for the March 11 interviews were served by the MACC on the solicitors on Feb 25, and issuing a press release just two days later “gives the false impression that our clients are running away or absconding from any investigation".
The same day, Immigration director general Datuk Zakaria Shaaban confirmed that three of them had left the country earlier this year, Bernama reported.
