KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 27): EXAL Malaysia has partnered with RHB Banking Group to advance sustainable homeownership through the GreenRE-certified SÓL Estate, positioning it as the first landed development in Sarawak eligible for RHB Bank’s Green Home Financing Guarantee Programme.
According to a press release, the collaboration enables eligible homebuyers to obtain up to 110% margin of finance under RHB’s green home financing proposition, allowing purchasers to finance their home acquisition together with related upfront costs.
The milestone was announced during 'Living The Green', a showcase organised by EXAL in collaboration with RHB Bank at the SÓL Estate sales gallery.
Albert Ko, managing director of EXAL Malaysia, said the eligibility for 110% financing aligns sustainability objectives with financial accessibility.
“At EXAL, sustainability must be both responsible and attainable. Qualifying for 110% Green Financing bridges thoughtful design with financial accessibility. It allows homeowners to invest in a greener lifestyle without increasing financial strain — which is how sustainable communities should be built,” he said.
SÓL Estate’s GreenRE certification recognises its integration of passive design strategies, cross ventilation, energy-efficient layouts and environmentally conscious planning embedded into both architecture and community design.
Jeffrey Ng, managing director of group community banking at RHB Banking Group, said the partnership supports broader efforts to expand access to certified green homes.
“This partnership demonstrates RHB’s commitment to enabling sustainable homeownership and expanding access to certified green homes. By making environmentally aligned properties more accessible, we empower Malaysians to make choices that benefit their families today while contributing to a better environment for the future,” he said.
The event also featured participation from Solarvest, which showcased solar panel systems and renewable energy solutions, and I-Metal, which presented sustainable metal roofing technologies incorporated into the development’s infrastructure.
Guests were offered electric vehicle test drives by Tesla as part of the showcase highlighting sustainable mobility integration within the community concept.
The collaboration forms part of EXAL’s SOLCARE ecosystem, a long-term framework integrating quality assurance, professional property management, renewable energy infrastructure and sustainable building practices aimed at supporting homeowner value and community resilience.
