Its performance for the year ended Dec 31, 2025 was supported by strong growth in low-cost deposits and its dominant position in the Islamic banking sector. Total deposits rose 3.8% to 270.5 trillion rupiah from a year ago, bolstered by a 10.1% jump in current account savings account (CASA) balances to 189.5 trillion rupiah.
Total loans or financing grew 4.5% to 238.3 trillion rupiah, with the highest growth registered in the corporate banking segment at 6.7%, followed by consumer banking at 3.4%; its small and medium enterprise, or SME, segment recorded a 2% growth. "The increase in retail loans was largely contributed by auto loans, which grew 10.1% y-o-y," CIMB Niaga said in a statement.
CIMB Niaga president director and chief executive officer Lani Dermawan said the group was rigorous in its risk management framework, which is reflected in its asset quality. It achieved a gross non-performing loan, or NPL, of 1.81%, with a reduced cost of credit of 0.74%.
"Ultimately, achieving a 13.0% return on equity demonstrates our capacity to deliver steady profitability while maintaining a disciplined and stable financial profile," she said.
She also noted that the bank had successfully bolstered its liquidity and capital position. The bank's capital adequacy ratio rose to 24.8% from 23.3% in FY2024, while its loan-to-deposit ratio edged up to 86.8% from 86.3%.
CIMB Niaga’s consolidated assets stood at 372.7 trillion rupiah as of Dec 31, 2025, reaffirming its position as Indonesia’s second-largest privately-owned bank.
Meanwhile, its Islamic business unit CIMB Niaga Syariah recorded a total financing of 55.7 trillion rupiah and deposits of 50.3 trillion rupiah as of Dec 31, 2025, maintaining its position as the largest Unit Usaha Syariah in Indonesia.
Looking ahead, Lani said the bank will focus on prudent loan growth, maintaining asset quality, further strengthening its current CASA and exercising disciplined cost management.
Guided by its Forward30 strategy, she said the bank is “confident in sustaining resilient performance and delivering enduring value for their stakeholders, including customers and society at large”.
