KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 25): Telekom Malaysia Bhd’s (KL:TM) net profit more than halved to RM222.49 million for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (4QFY2025) due to the absence of a one-off tax credit, higher mobile network sharing costs, and increased customer acquisition and employee expenses from voluntary separation schemes. A year ago, it posted a net profit of RM730.63 million.

Earnings per share (EPS) fell to 5.8 sen from 19.04 sen. Operating profit before other gains and finance costs (Ebit) stood at RM215.5 million, compared to RM512.4 million in the corresponding quarter last year.

The group announced a second interim dividend of 14.5 sen and a special dividend of four sen for FY2025, making the total dividend 31 sen, the same as FY2024.

Revenue rose slightly to RM3.26 billion from RM3.1 billion though, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia, thanks to better delivery at its carrier-to-carrier (C2C) and business-to-consumer (B2C) segments.

The B2C segment grew 2.8% to RM1.50 billion, driven by converged service bundles and device campaigns. The business-to-business (B2B) segment was down 2.7% to RM760.5 million as customers focused on cost optimisation and digital services. Meanwhile, the C2C business was up 25.6% to RM979.6 million, supported by higher data and fibre services from global tech demand.

Telekom Malaysia said it finished the second half of 2025 with strong growth across B2C, B2B, and C2C. B2C grew through Quad-Play, Smart Home, and Unifi TV offerings. B2B expanded in ICT, cloud, data centres, digital services, and cybersecurity. Meanwhile, C2C strengthened Malaysia’s digital hub role with artificial intelligence-ready data centres, submarine cables, and 5G mobile backhaul.

The group expects revenue to grow in the single digits in FY2026, with Ebit maintained at FY2025 levels and capital spending at 18% to 20% of revenue.

For the full year, net profit declined to RM1.71 billion from RM2 billion in FY2024, with EPS down to 44.64 sen from 52.56 sen. Ebit for FY2025 stood at RM2.03 billion.

Revenue was higher at RM11.87 billion, up from RM11.71 billion.

Telekom Malaysia’s share price was down 0.49% to RM8.10 at the time of writing on Wednesday, valuing the group at RM31.09 billion.
