KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 24): MISC Bhd (KL:MISC) narrowed its net loss for the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (4QFY2025), mainly due to higher operating profit and lower impairment provisions.

The group posted a net loss of RM11.8 million for 4QFY2025 compared with RM446.2 million a year earlier, according to a bourse filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday.

Quaterly revenue declined 15% to RM2.81 billion from RM3.31 billion, weighed down by weaker contributions from the gas assets and solutions segment, and the marine and heavy engineering segment as projects near completion.

MISC declared a fourth interim dividend of 14 sen per share, amounting to RM624.9 million, payable on March 26, bringing total dividends for FY2025 to 38 sen per share compared with 36 sen in the previous year.

For the full FY2025, MISC’s net profit rose 42.44% to RM1.70 billion from RM1.19 billion in FY2024, even as revenue fell 15.8% to RM11.15 billion from RM13.24 billion previously.

On its outlook, the group said liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier charter rates are expected to improve gradually this year as rising global liquefaction capacity helps rebalance market fundamentals, although rates for steam turbine vessels are likely to remain subdued amid preference for modern ships.

The gas segment will focus on securing long-term charters, rejuvenating its fleet with eco-efficient vessels, and managing off-charter ships through cost optimisation and redeployment initiatives, said MISC.

The petroleum and products segment sees a broadly positive outlook, supported by resilient tonne-mile demand and shifting global oil trade flows, with tanker rates expected to remain firm despite new vessel deliveries, as it continues to expand its contract portfolio and optimise fleet deployment, it said.

The offshore segment is expected to benefit from steady energy demand and increasing deepwater developments, particularly in South America and Asia-Pacific, while the marine and heavy engineering segment anticipates a volatile operating environment due to geopolitical and tariff uncertainties, the group added.

MISC’s share price was one sen or 0.12% higher at RM8.27 at Tuesday’s noon market break, giving it a market capitalisation of RM36.92 billion.
