KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 19): LC Wakaful Digital Sdn Bhd (LCWD) has launched Impakrintas with six non-profit organisations, including the National Cancer Society of Malaysia and OrphanCare, after being appointed by the Securities Commission Malaysia as the first operator of Malaysia’s Social Exchange Platform.
In a statement on Thursday, LCWD said the other non-profit organisations on the platform are Food Aid Foundation, PERTIWI, Suriana Welfare Society, and YOKUK.
Impakrintas is a regulated digital platform that lets approved non-profits raise funds, allowing individuals and companies to donate directly for social impact projects.
The platform enables individuals and companies to make direct cash donations to non-profits that are approved under Subsection 44(6) of the Income Tax Act 1967.
Eligible projects listed on the platform relate to social welfare, cultural preservation and heritage, as well as environmental sustainability and conservation initiatives carried out in Malaysia, said LCWD.
According to LCWD, the platform incorporates screening and onboarding of non-profits, project listing infrastructure, as well as reporting, monitoring and governance tools. It also provides corporate donor engagement support and ongoing compliance monitoring.
LCWD chief executive officer Firdaus Mohamed said the platform integrates regulatory oversight, technology infrastructure and community participation within a single framework.
“By embedding governance, disclosures, and transparency into the fundraising journey, we are helping the sector move beyond traditional models toward measurable outcomes and stronger accountability,” said Firdaus, who is also the group chief executive officer of Gobarakah Tech Sdn Bhd.
He added that the initiative is aimed at strengthening transparency and governance standards in the charitable sector, while providing donors with greater visibility over the use of funds.
LCWD is a wholly owned subsidiary of Gobarakah Tech and develops regulated digital infrastructure for the social finance ecosystem. Gobarakah Tech focuses on fintech and social impact platforms aimed at enhancing accountability and traceability within the charitable and social finance sectors.
