KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 9): Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd (KL:MPI) saw increased gains in its second quarterly due to higher sales volume of its high-value semiconductor products and better margins.
Net profit for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2025 (2QFY2026) rose by 42.6% to RM57.09 million versus RM40.03 million in the same quarter a year ago.
Quarterly revenue also saw gains of 18% to RM626.62 million from RM530.5 million previously.
In a filing on Bursa Malaysia, MPI said its recent performance was attributed to recovery in key end markets in Asia, the US and Europe, and the group’s continued focus on cost management and efficiency.
Revenue for the Asia, the US and Europe segment was higher by 21%, 37%, and 10% respectively against the corresponding period of FY2025, says MPI.
The group's revenue for the second half of FY2026 was RM1.26 billion, which is 20% higher compared with the revenue of RM1.05 billion for the corresponding period.
Despite ongoing global headwinds such as rising commodity prices, US tariffs on certain European countries and a weaker US dollar, MPI said its cost-reduction initiatives helped maintain healthy margins and profitability.
“The group's performance will continue to benefit from strong demand for AI [artificial intelligence] servers and the recovery of the automotive segment,” said the company in the filing.
On its corporate proposals, MPI’s wholly owned subsidiary, Dynacraft Industries Sdn Bhd, entered a conditional sale and purchase agreement in February 2025 for the disposal of two parcels of land in Bayan Lepas, Penang, for a total cash consideration of RM140 million.
The assets have been reclassified as held for sale, and the proposed disposal is expected to complete in the first half of 2026.
Shares of Malaysian Pacific Industries were up RM1.18 or 3.88% to RM31.58 on Monday’s market close, valuing the group at RM6.63 billion.
