KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 9): Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd's (KL:BHIC) shares have been suspended from trading on Monday until 5pm on Tuesday Feb 10, pending a material announcement to Bursa Malaysia.

BHIC is 72.38% owned by Boustead Holdings Bhd, which is wholly owned by Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera (LTAT), the armed forces provident fund.

Recently, BHIC has been working with foreign partners. In January, it signed an agreement with France’s Defense Conseil International to provide spare parts, components, and technical and manpower support for helicopter platforms in Malaysia.

Earlier, in December 2025, BHIC said it was exploring buying motorised floating bridges from French company CNIM Systèmes Industriels. The deal, under a non-binding memorandum of understanding, covers the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of CNIM’s Pont Flottant Motorisé — a floating bridge that can be used to carry military vehicles or help during floods and bridge collapses.

The service provider of services and support across the marine, aerospace and weapons and combat sectors company reported a net loss of RM7.1 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, compared with a net profit of RM6.5 million for the same period last year. This was on 23% lower revenue of RM147.1 million due to lower marine repair and defence facility revenue, which was mostly recognised in 2024, and certain contracts under its Submarine In-Service Support (ISS) programme for the Royal Malaysian Navy, a cornerstone of its defence operations, nearing completion in 2025.

BHIC’s share price had fallen to a 52-week low of 20 sen on Jan 27, before making a steady climb over the last few weeks to a one-month high of 31.5 sen on Monday, before trading was suspended at 9.31am. At that price, the company was valued at about RM177.8 million.
