KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Oasis Harvest Corporation Bhd (KL:OASIS) on Wednesday confirmed that celebrity chef Datuk Dr Redzuawan Ismail will retain a 20% equity stake and full creative control of Metta Food & Lifestyle Sdn Bhd, the operating arm behind De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan and Café Chef Wan.
Oasis Harvest — formerly known as Dolphin International Bhd — had in June 2025 announced its plan to acquire a 100% stake in Metta Food & Lifestyle for RM30.8 million in cash from Tan Sri Dr Goh Tian Chuan’s Globaltec Formation Bhd (KL:GLOTEC), Datuk Seri Tan Ooi Han, Andre Shum Khum Yuin, Datuk Seri Wong Kok Chor, David Liew Poh Sun and Tan Tung Nguan.
Back then, Metta Food & Lifestyle owned 80% stakes in five F&B subsidiaries, in which Redzuawan Ismail — better known as Chef Wan — owned the remaining 20%.
Oasis Harvest’s full acquisition of Metta Food & Lifestyle, which comes with a two-year profit guarantee of RM5.6 million, was completed in end-October last year.
The company on Wednesday announced that Chef Wan will now own a 20% stake in Metta Food & Lifestyle, the main operating arm of its F&B businesses.
Oasis Harvest executive director Ch’ng Eu Vern said Chef Wan’s equity stake and active involvement provide critical continuity and credibility.
“This is a partnership of respect and ambition. Chef Wan’s continued equity stake and active involvement provide critical continuity and credibility. Our role is to provide the platform for growth —responsibly and strategically,” he said in a press statement.
Meanwhile, Redzuawan Ismail said he remains a committed shareholder and is not merely a brand ambassador.
“I want to be very clear: I am not just a face for this brand; I remain a committed shareholder. This partnership allows us to grow without losing our soul. My 20% stake is my promise to our customers that I am still here, safeguarding the authenticity, quality and Malaysian identity that earned us our Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition.
“With Oasis Harvest, we now have the resources to take this vision further than I could alone,” he remarked.
Shares in Oasis Harvest closed one sen or 4.35% lower at 22 sen on Wednesday, valuing the group at RM32 million.
