KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 15): Malaysia’s national mortgage corporation Cagamas Bhd announced its first-ever issuance schedule in an initiative that will provide greater visibility on its fundraising activities.
Cagamas is targeting issuances in February, May, July, and October, according to the 2026 calendar published on the company’s website. Indicative details of each scheduled issuance will be released no later than the last week of the preceding target month, Cagamas noted.
“By sharing an indicative schedule, we aim to drive more effective liquidity and investment planning among current and prospective instrument holders,” Cagamas chief executive officer Kameel Abdul Halim said in a statement.
The initiative follows Cagamas’ new record-year that saw a total of RM31.3 billion raised through bonds, sukuk, financing facilities and other financial instruments at a time of global headwinds marked by financial market volatility, geopolitical tensions and monetary policy shifts.
Proceeds from the borrowings issued by Cagamas are mainly used to finance the purchase of housing loans and other eligible assets from Malaysia’s domestic financial system to free up liquidity to lenders and promote home ownership.
The company may forego any issuance scheduled in the calendar depending on prevailing market conditions, Cagamas stressed. Further, Cagamas may also make unscheduled fundraising announcements, it added.
