KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 13): Digital media group Foodie Media Bhd (KL:FOODIE) reported record revenue and profit on Tuesday in its first quarterly results announcement following the group's ACE Market debut in November 2025.
For its first quarter ended Nov 30, 2025 (1QFY2026), the group made a net profit of RM3.78 million on a revenue of RM12.6 million, as it benefitted from stable operating conditions throughout the period.
Revenue was primarily driven by contributions from digital media publishing and sponsored content, supplemented by campaign management services, affiliate commerce, and influencer marketing activities.
"Revenue was primarily generated from Malaysia, with additional contributions from overseas markets including Ireland and Singapore, underscoring the group’s growing regional footprint. While Malaysia remains the group’s core market, overseas contributions are expected to increase progressively as regional monetisation initiatives scale," it said in a statement.
It enjoyed a gross profit margin of 56.4%, "reflecting the scalability and operating leverage of 'its' digital-led business model", the group said.
On a quarter-on-quarter basis, the group's net profit doubled from the RM1.9 million in 4QFY2025, as revenue jumped 44.8% from RM8.7 million, fuelled by higher sponsored content engagements, it noted.
As of end-November 2025, the group's cash and short-term deposits totalled RM50.6 million, while borrowings remained low at RM400,000, resulting in a net cash position of about RM50.2 million.
Founder and chief executive officer Nicholas Lim Pinn Yang said the group has been seeing strong demand for high-impact digital solutions as brands increasingly shift their marketing budgets towards social-first platforms and performance-driven content.
"Our strong first-quarter performance marks an important milestone for Foodie Media, as we delivered the highest quarterly revenue and profit since the group’s inception. This achievement reinforces our confidence in the group’s positioning within the fast-growing digital media landscape and reflects the strength of our content-led, performance-driven business model.
"Looking ahead, the group remains focused on strengthening its core digital media capabilities by scaling diversified content verticals and deepening our KOL and creator ecosystem. By investing in talent, technology and data-driven content strategies, we aim to build a sustainable platform that connects brands with highly engaged audiences," Lim added.
Foodie Media shares closed one sen higher at 54 sen — up 80% from its initial public offering (IPO) price of 30 sen — giving it a market capitalisation of RM480 million.
The group's IPO raised RM75 million — RM41.4 million in new capital for the company and RM33.6 million for its existing shareholders, including Lim. Over 55% of the proceeds raised were earmarked for the recruitment of nearly 200 new staff.
