
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 29): An 8.5% stake in ICT firm Omesti Bhd (KL:OMESTI) was traded off market on Monday.
The shares were traded across four blocks totalling 112.35 million shares (4.84%) at 0.83 sen apiece, and another block of 85 million shares (3.66%) at 10 sen apiece, Bloomberg’s filing showed.
It is unclear who was involved in the selling, which amounted to RM27.15 million. The group recently completed a private placement of nearly 303 million shares to raise RM24.2 million, as well as a rights issue which was 60% subscribed, raising RM26.35 million as part of a restructuring exercise.
Omesti's largest shareholders include founder Datuk Mah Siew Kwok with a 15.8% direct stake, deputy chairman Datuk Seri Thong Kok Khee via Insas Bhd (KL:INSAS) (13.14%), Kenanga Yield Enhancement Fund (9.04%) and executive director Monteiro Gerard Clair with a 4.9% direct stake and a 2.86% indirect stake.
The corporate exercise also includes a share capital reduction to reduce its accumulated losses by RM200 million.
Shares in Omesti traded unchanged at 8.5 sen on Monday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM186.44 million. The counter is down four sen this year.
