KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 23): Integrated marketing and branding services provider SBS Nexus Bhd, en route to list on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia on Jan 20, 2026, is expanding its operations with plans to establish a new headquarters in the third quarter of 2026.
Managing director and chief executive officer Wong Chun Mun said the new hub will serve as a centralised platform for SBS Nexus’ integrated offerings, which include branding strategy, content creation, digital marketing, event management and offline advertising execution.
The new headquarters is expected to create job opportunities for about 100 employees, compared with the group’s current base in Bandar Sri Damansara, Selangor, which houses 44 staff, Wong told reporters at the launch of the group’s initial public offering (IPO) prospectus on Tuesday.
The group noted that the location has yet to be finalised, but it is considering three potential sites within the Klang Valley for its new flagship office.
Of the RM30.6 million to be raised from the IPO at an issue price of 25 sen per share, 23.2% will be allocated to setting up the new headquarters, while 23.7% will be used for business expansion. The remaining proceeds will be utilised to repay bank borrowings, fund promotional activities, meet working capital needs and defray listing-related expenses.
As part of its growth strategy, SBS Nexus is also planning to tap into the Malay-speaking small and medium enterprise (SME) market through a new brand, MyUsahawanMedia. Its existing mainstay brand ShangHai caters primarily to Chinese-speaking SMEs and contributes about 95% of the group’s total revenue.
The group said it plans to replicate the business model of its ShangHai brand, offering campaign strategy design and a one-stop integrated solution, to serve clients under the new division.
According to Wong, MyUsahawanMedia will be rolled out gradually over the first six to nine months of 2026.
Executive director and chief operating officer Warren Cheng said the group is already targeting Malay entrepreneurs and online training gurus as potential clients with the launch of the new segment.
“We will approach this in multiple ways, including collaborations with key opinion leaders and gurus, to expand into the Malay market,” Cheng said.
Chief financial officer Kevin Tay said the group plans to hire 18 new staff to spearhead the development of the new division, including senior executives specialising in content creation, graphic design and video production.
He added that the Malay-speaking SME segment is expected to contribute about 10% of group revenue in the financial year ending Dec 31, 2026.
According to the prospectus, SBS Nexus recorded a net profit of RM4.7 million on revenue of RM21.76 million for the cumulative six months ended June 30, 2025. The main revenue drivers were online marketing services, including digital and video production as well as website development. The group’s gross profit margin stood at 35.4%.
Looking ahead, SBS Nexus said it will continue to focus on delivering integrated branding and marketing services across both online and offline channels, amid ongoing shifts in media consumption and advertising practices.
