KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 19): Five listed companies have announced the signing of power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (KL:TENAGA) for their respective solar projects.

According to bourse filings on Friday, the 21-year agreements involve subsidiaries and joint ventures of Jaks Resources Bhd (KL:JAKS), Sunview Group Bhd (KL:SUNVIEW), Cypark Resources Bhd (KL:CYPARK), Wawasan Dengkil Holdings Bhd (KL:DENGKIL), and Nestcon Bhd (KL:NESTCON).

Jaks Resources signed two PPAs for solar plants of 99.99 megawatts (MW) each in Merang, Terengganu, through its subsidiaries JAKS CP Solar One Sdn Bhd and JAKS CPECC Solar Two Sdn Bhd. The commercial operation dates were not disclosed.

Separately, SunPark (Pasir Panjang) Sdn Bhd — a 51:49 joint venture between Sunview Group and Cypark Resources — executed a 21-year PPA for a 99.99MW solar plant under the LSS Petra 5+ programme. Located in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, the project is scheduled to begin commercial operations on Feb 29, 2028.

Meanwhile, WD Solar Kedah Sdn Bhd, a 70:30 joint venture between Wawasan Dengkil and Nestcon, signed its PPA for solar facilities in Pendang, Kedah. The commercial operation date was not disclosed.

At Friday’s close, Jaks Resources shares rose half a sen or 5.3% to 10 sen, valuing the group at RM262.63 million. Year to date, the stock has fallen 26%.

Sunview slipped half a sen or 1.3% to 37.5 sen, with a market capitalisation of RM212.9 million, down 16.7% year to date.

Cypark Resources gained two sen or 2.9% to 72 sen, valuing the group at RM592.44 million, though the stock has declined 16.8% year to date.

Wawasan Dengkil eased half a sen or 2.7% to 18 sen, giving it a market value of RM97.22 million. The stock has dropped 26% from its listing price of 25 sen on March 25.

Nestcon shares were unchanged at 33 sen, valuing the company at RM249.55 million, down 21.4% year-to-date.
