
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 16): AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd (KL:AEONCR) has issued its 11th senior sukuk with a nominal amount of RM200 million and a five-year tenure.
The company said in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Tuesday that proceeds from the senior sukuk would be used for financing disbursements based on shariah principles.
“The funds would also be used to refinance any existing loans or financing of the company, or any sukuk previously issued,” said the filing, adding that all utilisation of proceeds under the sukuk wakalah programme shall be shariah-compliant.
The senior sukuk forms part of AEON Credit’s sukuk wakalah programme, which was recently upsized to RM5 billion from RM2 billion.
Shares in AEON Credit closed down five sen or 0.9% at RM5.50, valuing the group at RM2.81 billion. Year to date, the stock has fallen 11.9%.
