KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 12): Newly-listed Orkim Bhd (KL:ORKIM) saw the emergence of two more substantial shareholders: pensions fund Kumpulan Wang Amanah (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) and the Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

The shares were subscribed under the group's IPO, Orkim's filing showed.

KWAP is now the second largest shareholder in Orkim with a 5.8% direct stake in the vessel group, together with another 2.93% indirect stake after subscribing to 87.28 million shares.

EPF, meanwhile, acquired 68.44 million shares under the IPO, representing a 6.84% stake in the company.

Prudential was named as a substantial shareholder of Orkim on Thursday, with 5.13% interest. The insurance group on Friday raised its stake further to 5.69% or 56.87 million shares held.

Permodalan Nasional Bhd is the largest shareholder in the marine group, holding 60% together with its trust funds.

Orkim’s shares last traded at 95.5 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM955 million.

The stock, which was listed on Bursa Malaysia's Main Market on Dec 9, is up 3.8% from its IPO price of 92 sen per share.
