
KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 11): The Ministry of Works (KKR) have awarded two letters of acceptance (LOAs) for two-high impact road projects worth RM236.64 million, according to a statement on Thursday.
The LOAs were handed over to two contractor companies, one for each project belonging to the KKR and the other to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW).
The first project is the Pasir Gudang Expressway Upgrading Project (FT17) from the Perling Level Interchange to the North-South Expressway Exit, Pasir Gudang, Johor.
This RM174.53 million project involves the upgrading of the existing road along a length of 7.0km to increase the capacity from four lanes to six lanes in both directions on the main industrial corridor connecting the Tebrau area, Taman Kobena and Pasir Gudang Port.
The project, which commenced on Dec 3, 2025, is expected to be completed in December 2028.
The second project, valued at RM62.11 million, is the New Construction Project from Jalan Kampung Gembut to Kampung Teluk Baharu, Sedili Besar, Kota Tinggi.
The project will commence on Dec 17, 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in December 2028.
LOAs had been issued for 54 road projects nationwide as of Dec 1, 2025, with a total value of RM2.96 billion.
Of this total, 18 projects are under the KKR involving a cost of RM1.77 billion, while 36 projects are under the KKDW involving a cost of RM1.19 billion.
