KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 3): The one-off RM100 Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara) credit for Malaysians aged 18 and above is now in its final month and will expire on Dec 31.

Sara — part of the government's subsidy rationalisation strategy — channels RM100 directly into a person’s MyKad and works as a cashless payment tool. The balance rolls over each month, but all credit expires after Dec 31, 2025.

The credit can be used for 14 essential goods at more than 7,300 participating outlets, including major supermarkets, mini markets, and mom-and-pop stores. The goods include rice, household cleaning products and hygiene items.

First-time users will need to set a six-digit PIN MyKasih system. They will need to enter their PINs to approve transactions in stores after scanning their MyKads.
